This is a GP 9 engine. The GP stands for
"general purpose" engine used for general purpose road and switching work.
The model was made by Lionel.
This is Barry Coulter running the O Gauge model trains at Railroad Days in Galesburg, Illinois, last year. Barry keeps the toy trains on track using a remote control as shown in his hand in this photograph. This offers him the convenience of moving around to talk with visitors and still control what the model trains are doing .
