Hand Painted O Gauge BackdropsThe train depot painted on this o-gauge model train backdrop is real and is found at Yates City, Illinois. You'll see a small red house in the distance which is also a real house in Yates City, Illinois. It was the home of Barry Coulter's paternal Grandpa Richard "Dick" Coulter who was employed by the railroad for many years as a section foreman. Barry decided to include these landmarks in his painted o-gauge railroad backdrop for sentimental reasons.
Here is another view of the same scene from a different direction. The depot backdrop is coming straight toward you now, so you won't see it. I put a small red arrow on the photograph so you'll know where the scene above is located on this picture.
